Condoms Less Popular in Indonesia

USE condoms as a contraceptive is commonly used by Western society. Unlike the people of Indonesia, although many people know the usefulness of condoms, contraceptives but it was less popular.

We all know that condoms are considered as contraceptives with multiple roles. Because condoms can act as a deterrent sexually transmitted infections and as a contraceptive. However, its use in Indonesian society is still considered taboo.

"Our society is less likely to use condoms as a contraceptive. Such a shame when buying a condom is the main reason for lack of interest, "said Dr. Sudibyo Alimoeso, MA, Deputy Family Welfare and Family Empowerment BKKBN while talking exclusively with Okezone BKKN Office Center, Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta, Friday (11/23/2012).

He added, a negative stereotype about condom use being the cause of a lot of people are embarrassed to choose this as one tool contraception with a partner.

"Our society is less than five percent use condoms. The reason other than embarrassment when buying, they are also disturbed by the installation of condom. In fact, this could be an alternative contraception for couples who want to delay having children, "he explained.
